Vaccinations

At Aussie Mobile Vet, we believe your pet's health is very important. Yearly vet check ups and vaccinations are essential to ensure that your dog, puppy, cat, kitten or rabbit is healthy. Vaccinations are also a crucial routine that can help pick up early problems or obtain advice on conditions or diseases that your pet is prone to. Preventative care is the key to keeping your pet healthy, and we provide a range of vaccinations to protect your canine, feline or rabbit friend. Remember, Prevention is always better than cure.

Puppy / Dog Vaccinations
We provide the Canine C5 and Canine C3.

Canine C3, which vaccinates against Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus and Canine Parvovirus.

For a more complete and comprehensive protection, we recommend the Canine C5 which will immunise against the above 3 diseases, as well as both Canine Parainfluenza and Bordetella bronchiseptica - which cause Kennel Cough.

  • Infectious Canine Hepatitis is a disease affecting the liver, caused by Canine Adenovirus and can live for up to 12 months in the environment. Signs include high fever, diarrhoea, inappetance, and weakness. Death may occur within 48 hours of infection, especially in young puppies.
  • Canine Distemper can cause fever, gastrointestinal and respiratory symptoms. The brain and spinal cord are often affected and dogs that recover can be left with neurological symptoms. Most susceptible are young puppies and older unvaccinated dogs.
  • Canine Parvovirus can also survive in the environment for extended periods of time and causes profuse vomiting and diarrhoea, which can turn bloody. Parvovirus can also cause cardiac problems in animals less than 3 months of age. Although younger dogs are more susceptible. Death occurs in dogs of all ages.
  • Canine or Kennel Cough is caused by Parainfluenza and Bordetella and is spread by close contact with other dogs. Symptoms include a harsh, hacking cough. These components are covered by the C5 vaccination. Protection against kennel cough is compulsory for any dogs that require boarding at kennels.

Kitten / Cat Vaccinations
We provide the Feline F3 vaccine, which protects against Feline Enteritis, Feline Rhinotracheitis /Herpesvirus (part of the cat flu complex) and Feline Calicivirus (also part of the cat flu complex). These diseases can prove to be fatal in unvaccinated cats, regardless of whether they are kittens or adults.

  • Cat Flu is a highly contagious respiratory illness caused by three agents; Feline Herpes virus, Calicivirus and Chlamydia. Symptoms include coughing, sneezing, nasal and ocular discharge, loss of appetite and mouth ulcers.
  • Feline Enteritis or Panleucopaenia has a high death rate, especially in kittens less than 12 months of age. It is a contagious gastrointestinal disease. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea, fever and dehydration. Infection of pregnant cats can cause abnormalities in kittens.

For extra protection, we also offer FIV and FeLV Vaccinations. These cat vaccinations protects against Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (Feline Aids) and Feline Leukaemia Virus. This is highly recommended for outdoor cats and those who may get into catfights.

  • Feline Leukaemia Virus this is a chronic disease in cats that leads to the destruction of the cat's immune system. This disease can be passed onto other cats through social contact.
  • Feline Immunodeficiency Virus this is an infectious disease that is transmitted through saliva- a common mode of transmission is through bite wounds. The virus attacks the cells of the immune system and makes it vulnerable to secondary infections.
