Prevention Injection

We provide a yearly Heartworm Prevention Injection Service. Heartworm is spread through the bite of mosquitoes, and is so called as it resides in the heart of the host during the final stage of its life cycle. It can cause death through congestive heart failure.

Mosquitos are present all year round in Sydney and it only takes one bite from an infected mosquito to infest your pet.

Heartworm is easily prevented by either the use of a daily or monthly preventative or an annual injection. Many dogs show little or no sign of infection, but a simple blood test can show if the parasite is present.

Heartworm preventatives can be given via monthly chews or top-spot combinations or yearly injections.
